This series of watercolors was produced mostly for my own satisfaction of nostalgia. I decided to return to my subject matter of 15 years previous when I was producing plein air urban landscapes. Since that time my tastes, skills, and approach had changed. This was an attempt to interpret my previous work through my current sensibilities. This included using found source materials instead of direct observation, pattern instead of specificity, and a meticulous painting system that blends the spontaneity of watercolor with the process of silkscreen.
The original series, “Neighborhood,” this was a response to can be found under the “Archive” link.
